[AD] Improved Windows Screensaver test back-ported to the 4.0 series

Here are the same modifications I made to the screensaver and the MSVC and
Mingw32 build-docs, but these are based on the files of the 4.0.3
distribution. This does not take into account any changes that have been
made to the 4.0.x branch since 4.0.3 was released, so you might want to
check that these changes don't over-write anything that has changed since
4.0.3.
