Blah.... it seems I'm a bit tired :-)
Assuming your gcc 3.2 was not configured with --prefix=/usr/local, compile and
install the 4.0.3 beta1 with --prefix=/usr/local and try to compile a piece
of code the standard way (i.e with allegro-config).
