How about using Lua ? This whole config system is getting bigger
and bigger. Lua would not only fit the purpose, but allow more,
with a tried efficient implementation.
If we're going for modularization, the config system could be
a small wrapper around Lua. This also means that it would be more
difficult to make the config system a core module though.
