So perhaps it should be wise to warn users of old binutil packages that 
their program won't support the latest instruction set. This may not be a 
problem for the staticly linked version of Allegro, but it can be a problem 
for the DLL, where people start distrubuting non-SSE or non-MMX versions of 
the DLL.
