I'd would be great if i could do:

BITMAP* screenshot = get_desktop_bitmap();

(after allegro_init() but before setting a new gfx mode).

This would allow you to do "desktop toy", or you could write screensavers
transforming the desktop, etc.

There's an example for windows (dibgrab.c) which allows to do something
like this using windows specific routines.
