it seems 'user' is an old name for the manual, so I looked at the
script, saw this
ref_dir, target_dir = sys.argv [1:3]
and then I manually issued
/usr/bin/python ../scripts/auxiliar/update-snippets.py notation
es/notation '*.itely'
and worked.
