Are the clients connecting to all of the redundant servers? If so,
losing connectivity to one shouldn't have much impact since the others
will still be working.
If the clents are only connecting to one server, and the network is
somehow directing traffic to one of the group of servers, then the
proper way to take a server out of service is to tell the network to
stop sending traffic to it.
