I get the same value for “NTP tests” for an NTP server on the same subnet. But the peer delay is plausible, and the time performance is good. Not sure what could cause network delays like you are seeing outside of one of the servers being CPU bound or the network being saturated. # chronyc ntpdata | head -27 Remote address : 192.168.50.230 (C0A832E6) Remote port : 123 Local address : 192.168.50.1 (C0A83201) Leap status : Normal Version : 4 Mode : Server Stratum : 1 Poll interval : 6 (64 seconds) Precision : -25 (0.000000030 seconds) Root delay : 0.000000 seconds Root dispersion : 0.000000 seconds Reference ID : 47505300 (GPS) Reference time : Sun Apr 04 01:11:14 2021 Offset : -0.000024434 seconds Peer delay : 0.000593282 seconds Peer dispersion : 0.000000070 seconds Response time : 0.000004822 seconds Jitter asymmetry: +0.00 NTP tests : 111 111 1101 Interleaved : No Authenticated : No TX timestamping : Daemon RX timestamping : Kernel Total TX : 12224 Total RX : 12224 Total valid RX : 12224 # chronyc sources | head -3 MS Name/IP address Stratum Poll Reach LastRx Last sample =============================================================================== ^* LeoNTP 1 3 377 46 +8327ns[ +11us] +/- 289us # chronyc sourcestats | head -3 Name/IP Address NP NR Span Frequency Freq Skew Offset Std Dev ============================================================================== LeoNTP 20 12 630 +0.001 0.066 +58ns 16us # chronyc -version chronyc (chrony) version 4.0 (-READLINE -SECHASH +IPV6 -DEBUG) |
