Big Surprising !!!
After a reboot I have checked as you suggested and I got
``````````
1377 ? 00:00:00 chronyd
`````````
and also this
`````
#chronyc tracking
Reference ID : 127.127.1.1 (127.127.1.1)
Stratum : 10
Ref time (UTC) : Tue Jun 15 13:30:38 2010
System time : 0.000000 seconds fast of NTP time
Frequency : 115.978 ppm slow
Residual freq : 0.000 ppm
Skew : 0.000 ppm
Root delay : 0.000000 seconds
Root dispersion : 0.000000 seconds
`````
Now please see what happen if I give a restart to chrony
#/etc/init.d/chrony restart
Restarting time daemon: chronyd is running and offline.
BUT now it is very very surprising !!!
````
#chronyc tracking
Reference ID : 120.88.46.10 (120-88-46-10.snat21.hns.net.in)
Stratum : 3
Ref time (UTC) : Tue Jun 15 13:32:33 2010
System time : 0.000000 seconds fast of NTP time
Frequency : 110.844 ppm slow
Residual freq : 0.003 ppm
Skew : 0.113 ppm
Root delay : 0.302704 seconds
Root dispersion : 0.035675 seconds
``````
Even after that whenever I restart chrony, it throws the *same error* but tracking shows chrony communicates with remote server !!!
Any clue ?
