[taste-users] [TASTE] Xenomai

For info, in the TASTE download area, you can download  a minimalistic Linux installation with the Xenomai extensions, that is very interesting for creating Real-Time linux applications on x86/Linux.

In order to make it work, there are three possibilities:

- Copy the image on a flash disk and boot from it
- Use Qemu (but it can be extremely complex to make it work as qemu requires many dependencies)
- And the easiest solution is to transform the image file into a Virtual box image - it then works directly, only the network remains to be activated manually inside the box, which is fortunately not an issue.

I documented the process to make it work without any effort :

Note that there is one limitation when using Xenomai, that is the fact that GNAT does not have any official port for this platform. Therefore it is not possible to use the Ada runtime with it.

Best regards,
Maxime
PS: the original work on Xenomai was done by J. Delange
