SliTaz contributors are proud to announce a new Cooking version of the LiveCD who will be the last Cooking before RC and 3.0 release. This new version comes with many changes and improvments. The core ISO image is at 27 MB, it provide a clean desktop for daily usage and many common tasks and have Netsurf has default web browser. From now we also provide a Firefox flavor at 29 Mb with sound and wifi support. This Cooking also have full UTF-8 support and use Xorg as X server.
On the update and improved side: tazpkg is faster, boot-scripts updated and home made tools improved. Wifi box use awk for better network scanning. WPA support in the boot scripts have been improved and boot time is logged. The SliTaz installer will now: try to use file from USB device if no cdrom found, let you use a separte /home partition, create default account and set root password. And finally LiveCD customization is now much easy, user just have to: boot, modidy and use writefs via Tazlito graphical interface or from the command line.
